The McDougall Research & Education Foundation has been, and will remain dedicated to informing global citizens about the positive effects of dietary-therapy on chronic disease and our Planet. John and Mary are not only administrators of the website and foundation, they are also its main contributors. Articles and interviews by John and Mary are produced regularly and are supported by the Foundation. Relevant scientific articles from many disciplines including medicine, social welfare, and the environment will be gathered and posted. The Foundation also educates medical students and trains interested young physicians on how to implement and practice dietary-therapy. Your donations help support this unique opportunity to change the way medicine is practiced in the 21st century.
The McDougall Research & Education Foundation is a fully accredited 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization that has for the past 30 years funded scientific research on the role diet plays in reversing common chronic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. The foundation also supports training physicians from medical schools worldwide. Most recently, the foundation has expanded its role to education about the positive impact of a single person’s diet on global warming. Every donation, great and small, helps us save lives and heal our planet. Please email us at office@drmcdougall.com for inquiries or more information on internship opportunities. Our mission is to bring awareness to the long-neglected reality that diet is a powerful player for saving the planet from the ravages of manmade climate change.
To offer our 45 years of experience helping thousands of people restore their personal health, to teach the practical application of a planet-saving diet; first to individuals, and then to populations worldwide.
John, a medical student, met Mary, a surgical nurse, in a hospital operating room in 1971. This once-in-a-lifetime cosmic collision set into motion the McDougall Program. Contrary to the standard practice of medicine, the McDougall Program focuses on food as therapy.
